About Northlane
Built on a radical idea: showing up.
Northlane exists because finding a garage door company that answers the phone, arrives when promised, and charges the quoted price shouldn't be hard. In Southeast Michigan, it was. So that became the entire business model.
We're based in Macomb, Michigan — our trucks start their mornings here and fan out across Macomb, Oakland, Wayne, and St. Clair counties. The team is built from experienced door technicians who were tired of the way this trade often works: vague pricing, four-hour arrival windows nobody honors, and commission structures that reward selling a new door to someone who needed a $40 part.
So we run it differently, and more like the technology companies our customers work at than a traditional contractor: transparent pricing published in ranges on this very website, dispatch software that gives you honest windows, techs paid to fix doors rather than to hit quotas, and every warranty term printed on the invoice in plain English.
The work itself is old-fashioned in the best way. We stock high-cycle springs because Michigan winters eat builder-grade ones. We replace steel rollers with sealed nylon because they outlast the door. We sweep the garage before we leave. And we'd rather tell you your door is fine — which we do, often — than invent a reason to be there.
If that sounds like the company you've been trying to find: we're easy to reach.

How we operate
Four promises, kept boringly.
Answer the phone
A human picks up during business hours, and emergency calls route to a person — not a voicemail promising a callback 'within 24–48 hours.' Half our five-star reviews mention this before they mention the repair.
Real arrival windows
We dispatch by route and tell you a window we can actually hit. If a job ahead of yours runs long, you get a call before the window closes — not an apology after it.
Quote first, wrench second
The complete price is written down and approved before work begins. If we discover something mid-job, work stops until you approve the change. The invoice matches the quote. Every time.
Fix what needs fixing
Our technicians aren't commissioned on upsells. When a $30 roller solves it, that's the recommendation. When replacement genuinely beats repair, you'll see the math for both and make the call yourself.
No pressure. No trip-fee surprises.
Broken spring? Stuck door? New-door dreams?
Call before 2 PM and we're usually there the same day. Or send photos and get a ballpark quote without anyone stepping foot in your driveway.
